Hand-Drafted Bespoke Suits by Two Tailor Petaling Jaya
Every bespoke commission at Two Tailor begins with a fresh paper pattern, hand-drafted for one client and one client only. Founder and Master Tailor Jacky Wong has led the workroom since 1975, pairing traditional full-canvas construction with high-twist wools and tropical blends chosen specifically for the humidity of Petaling Jaya and the wider Klang Valley.

A Suit That Belongs to the Klang Valley, Not a London Pattern Book
A bespoke suit is the most personal garment a man or woman can own. It is shaped not just to your chest and waist but to the way you stand at a pitch meeting, the way a shoulder dips when you carry a laptop bag, and the way you need to move through a humid afternoon on the LDP without surrendering your composure. That has been our standard since 1975, when Jacky Wong first set up his tape measure in PJ Old Town and began offering an alternative to the ill-fitting, mass-produced suits then flooding the Klang Valley.
Today Jacky still personally draws every paper pattern that leaves the Two Tailor workroom. Sarah Lee leads our finishing bench with twenty-five years of hand-stitching experience, and Azman bin Hashim handles fittings and traditional commissions. The whole team works under one roof in our SS2 studio. Nothing is outsourced offshore, and no jacket leaves the atelier without Jacky signing it off personally.
Cloth Chosen for 83 Percent Humidity, Not a London Winter
Petaling Jaya sits in a tropical rainforest climate. Average highs hover around 32 to 33 degrees year-round, humidity sits in the seventies and eighties, and the November monsoon can drop a full afternoon of rain without warning. A heavy English worsted that performs beautifully in London will wilt by lunchtime on the Federal Highway.
As an official retail partner for Ermenegildo Zegna, Vitale Barberis Canonico and Holland & Sherry, we hold a deep, hand-picked library of cloth chosen for exactly these conditions:
- High-twist Super 110s and 120s worsted wools that breathe and shrug off creasing on the morning commute from Damansara Uptown or Mutiara Damansara
- Fresco and Crispaire weaves with an open structure for airflow through the back of the jacket during long meetings
- Lightweight mohair-and-wool blends with a quiet sheen suited to evenings at Le Meridien PJ or One World Hotel
- Pure Irish and Italian linens for relaxed weekend tailoring and island weddings off the Selangor coast
We guide your cloth selection around how you actually use the garment, not around what looks most dramatic on the swatch card.
The Engineering Inside a Full-Canvas Jacket
The interior of a jacket decides how it will age. Most suits sold in Selangor today are fused, meaning the front panels are glued to a synthetic interlining. Fusing fails in heat and humidity. The bond eventually bubbles, the chest collapses, and the garment develops a sad, papery feel that no amount of dry cleaning can rescue.
Every Two Tailor jacket is instead built with a traditional full-canvas chest piece, hand-stitched in place so that canvas, cloth and lining float independently of one another. Over the first few months of wear, the chest moulds gently to your body, the lapel develops a living roll, and the suit settles into a drape that only improves with age. Hand pick-stitching along the lapel, working buttonholes on the sleeve, and a hand-set sleeve head are standard on every commission, not extra-cost upgrades.
One Atelier for Western, Baju Melayu and Cheongsam
What genuinely sets Two Tailor apart from other Petaling Jaya tailors is the breadth of our wardrobe expertise. The same team that cuts a full-canvas suit for a Bandar Utama executive also drafts Baju Melayu for a Raya gathering, patterns a modern Cheongsam for a family wedding in SS2, and builds a tuxedo for a corporate gala at Paradigm Mall. Jacky has spent fifty years blending Savile Row technique with the multicultural wardrobe of the Klang Valley, and Azman trained specifically in traditional construction. You can commission a Western business suit and a traditional set in a single consultation without ever leaving the SS2 atelier.
The Four Visits That Shape a Two Tailor Commission
- Consultation and measurement. A relaxed conversation about your work life, your wardrobe gaps and how you actually dress, followed by over thirty precise body measurements and a posture map. Allow roughly ninety minutes.
- Basted fitting. The jacket is loosely tacked together so Jacky can see your true silhouette and correct balance, posture and shoulder pitch before any serious hand-stitching begins.
- Forward fitting. Sleeve pitch, collar roll and trouser line are refined. Most clients need only one forward fitting, though Jacky will schedule a second if the cloth or the cut demands it.
- Final handover. The finished suit is pressed, handed over, and worn once around the workroom so we can confirm everything sits correctly.
If your schedule at Dataran Sunway, Damansara Uptown or Bandar Utama is unforgiving, we are happy to arrange a private after-hours fitting with Jacky himself.
Investment, Lifetime Promise, and Real Cost of Ownership
Our bespoke suits begin at RM1,800 and rise to RM4,500 depending on cloth, lining and finishing choices. Every quote includes the consultation, the paper pattern, the cloth, the construction, all fitting sessions, and the final hand-pressing. Read why genuine bespoke costs what it does for an honest breakdown of where the hours and materials go.
Beyond the sticker price, a Two Tailor commission includes our lifetime alteration promise. As your body shape changes with the years, we will refit the waist, the seat, the sleeve or the chest at no further charge, working from the original pattern we keep on file. A well-built bespoke jacket from our Petaling Jaya workroom should still be in regular rotation a decade from now, and many of our regulars are wearing suits we cut for them in 2014 and 2015.
