Five Decades of Petaling Jaya Tailoring

From a Single Machine in PJ Old Town, 1975

Two Tailor began in 1975 with one sewing machine in a small lot in PJ Old Town, where founder Jacky Wong offered the local community an alternative to mass-produced, ill-fitting clothing. His vision was to bring Savile Row-inspired techniques home and marry them with fabrics suited to the Southeast Asian climate.

Word of mouth did the rest. Fathers who collected their wedding suits from Jacky in the 1980s began bringing their sons in for graduation and their first professional wardrobes. As demand grew, the atelier moved to a larger studio in SS2, expanding its team of pattern makers and seamstresses along the way.

A Local Cornerstone in Petaling Jaya

Today, Two Tailor remains deeply rooted in Petaling Jaya, dressing business leaders commuting along the LDP, grooms preparing for weddings in Damansara, and everyday professionals working around Dataran Sunway. Our fabric library now includes Ermenegildo Zegna, Vitale Barberis Canonico, and Holland & Sherry, yet the tape measure and the chalk still guide everything we do.

The team is small on purpose. Jacky heads the cutting table after more than 50 years at the shears, Sarah Lee leads pattern work and intricate alterations with 25 years of experience, and Azman bin Hashim brings 15 years of expertise in both traditional Baju Melayu and contemporary corporate wear.

Our Philosophy

A bespoke suit should do more than fit. It should breathe in the Klang Valley humidity, hold its shape through a long day of meetings at Paradigm Mall, and still feel honest a decade later. That belief shapes every cloth we stock and every seam we hand-finish.

We will tell you when an alteration is not worth the cost, when a fabric will not behave in Malaysian weather, and when a different cut will serve you better. It is the kind of tailoring we were raised on, and the only kind we know how to do.
